You don’t have to walk your healing journey alone.

Finding a good fit

Connecting with the right therapist often takes time, patience, and persistence, but when you finally find the right one, all of the effort seems worth it.

As is true for clients, counselors must also be discerning in choosing the people they are best suited to work with based on their skill sets, favored modalities, and experience levels.

One way to make this process easier is to share the areas of focus that I am currently able to address. If none of these sound like what you are going through right now, you will know that your search continues. If one or more seem like they describe your issues or interests, you may consider reaching out for a free 15-minute consultation.

Areas of focus

Grief—Including the loss of a person, relationship, pet, career, dream, etc.

Big Life Transitions—Parenthood, empty nest, divorce, new relationships, leaving or starting a career, etc.

Mindfulness—Developing (or increasing) moment-to-moment awareness—a powerful tool when it comes to lasting change.

Dreamwork—For those interested in occasionally or regularly bringing nighttime dreams into therapy for collaborative interpretation and processing.

Healers—I also enjoy working with those who identify as healers or those going through spiritual transformations and who would benefit from speaking to someone who shares the general language of such experiences.

Education and therapeutic approach

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in the State of Washington.

I earned my Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii.

As someone in their mid-fifties, my approach is informed not only by humanistic and psychodynamic theoretical models but also by lived experiences that afford me a deep, personal understanding of how grief, loss, and profound change can impact our lives.

As required of all Associates adhering to Washington state law, I am working under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor supervisor.

*At present, Inner Diamond Counseling services are only available to residents of Washington state.
